This Privacy Policy describes how Vela Payments, Inc. ("Vela Payments," "Vento," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Vento service, visit our website at www.getvento.com, or communicate with us via SMS, iMessage, WhatsApp, email, or any other channel.

By using Vento, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Name, email address, phone number, and business name when you sign up through our website or contact us.
• Business details such as number of locations, tools you use, and operational preferences shared during onboarding.
• Messages and queries you send to Vento via SMS, iMessage, WhatsApp, or email.

Information from connected services:

When you authorize Vento to connect to your business tools, we access data from those services on your behalf. This may include:

• Point-of-Sale (POS) systems (e.g., Square, Toast): Sales transactions, revenue data, refunds, tips, and sales mix.
• Email (e.g., Gmail via Google Workspace API): Supplier invoices, customer inquiries, order confirmations, and delivery notifications. We access email in read-only mode.
• Calendar (e.g., Google Calendar): Meetings, vendor visits, inspections, and scheduled events. We access calendar in read-only mode.
• Banking (via Plaid): Account balances, transaction history, inflows, and outflows. We access bank data in read-only mode.

Information collected automatically:

• Device type, browser type, IP address, and usage data when you visit our website.
• Message delivery and read status for SMS and messaging communications.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Deliver daily morning briefings and real-time alerts about your business operations.
• Respond to your questions about your business data.
• Identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities in your business operations.
• Improve and personalize the Vento service.
• Communicate with you about your account, service updates, and support.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. SMS and Messaging Communications

When you opt in to Vento via our website or during onboarding, you consent to receive SMS and/or messaging communications from us. These messages include:

• Daily morning briefings summarizing your business performance.
• Real-time alerts about important business events (e.g., employee no-shows, unanswered leads, invoice anomalies).
• Responses to questions you ask about your business data.
• Onboarding and setup messages.

Message frequency varies. Typically 1–3 messages per day plus responses to your inquiries. Message and data rates may apply.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You can get help by replying HELP or emailing support@getvento.com.

We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or messaging opt-in consent with third parties for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: We use third-party services to operate Vento, including cloud hosting, messaging delivery (e.g., Twilio, Sendblue), data aggregation (e.g., Plaid), and AI processing. These providers access your data only to perform services on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.
• With your consent: We may share information when you explicitly authorize us to do so.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Access to business data connected through OAuth is limited to read-only permissions. We do not store banking credentials — bank connections are handled securely through Plaid.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you cancel your account, we will delete or anonymize your data within 90 days, unless we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Disconnect any integrated service at any time.
• Opt out of SMS communications by replying STOP.

8. Third-Party Services

Vento integrates with third-party services (Square, Toast, Google, Plaid, etc.) via their official APIs. Your use of those services is governed by their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies.

9. Children's Privacy

Vento is a business tool designed for adult business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and, where appropriate, via SMS or email. Your continued use of Vento after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
